Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. at St Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Buchner was born Dec. 1, 1879, in the village of Krotiv, Czechoslovakia, son of the late Joseph and Margaret Buchner. He came to the United States at the age of 20 and settled at Manitowoc. He became a citizen in 1906. He married the former Anna Lemberger Oct. 3rd, 1905, at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Whitelaw. His wife preceded him in death Jan. 19th, 1958. He was the oldest member of the fraternal order of Eagles in Wisconsin and had been affiliated with the local aerie, No. 706 for 50 years. He was also a member of the Catholic order of Foresters for nearly 60 years, a member of St. Boniface Holy Name Society and Manitowoc Marine Band. He worked as a cabinet maker at American Seating Co., Two Rivers, Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., and Burger Boat Co. Inc., retiring in 1951. Survivors are three sons, six daughters, a brother, Henry and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Fischer, of Manitowoc, 33 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. Three children preceded him in death. Friend may call at the funeral home after 3:00 p.m. Sunday where at 8:00 p.m. the Rosary will be recited by the Holy Name Society.

Deacon Edward G Buchner, 71, of 709 S 33rd St., Manitowoc, was born to his eternal life Saturday morning, February 24, 1990, at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. at St Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Rev Roman Zbieranski will be the celebrant of the Mass of Christian Burial and entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum. He was born Edward George Buchner, March 15, 1918 in Manitowoc, son of the late Joseph A. and Ann Lemberger Buchner. He was a lifelong Manitowoc resident and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1936. He furthered his education by obtaining a B.S. Degree in Special Education in 1966 from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. He entered the Armed Forces in 1944 and served with the U.S. Occupational Forces in Japan being discharged in 1946. At the time of his retirement in 1980 he was the Coordinator of Work and Study Programs at Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. Mr Buchner was ordained a Deacon of the Catholic Church in 1983 and served in that capacity at St Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He married the former Elaine D. Dueno, June 28, 1941 at St Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Survivors include his wife, two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Lester Holder of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jean and Gary Tuschl of Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Tammy Smith, Leslie Holder and Kelly Tuschl; a great grandson, David Smith; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Germaine Buchner of Greendale, Wisconsin; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marie Urban of Santa Rosa, California, Margaret and Ron McDonald of Daly City, California, Ann Braunel of Whitelaw, Helen LeClaire of Manitowoc, Kitty and Edward Kosut of Chicago, Illinois; a sister-in-law Lorraine Buchner of Manitowoc; a brother-in-law, William Kurth of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. this Monday where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. this Monday evening.
