AM/SSB COMMUNICATION

AMPLITUDE MODULATION (AM)
The following band allocations are available for AM:
160 Meter - Upper part of the band
75 Meter - 3.880 - 3.885 MHz
40 Meter - 7.290 - 7.295 MHz
20 Meter - 14.286 MHz
15 Meter - 21.390 MHz
10 Meter - 29.000 - 29.200 MHz
6 Meter - 50.300 - 50.400 MHz


SINGLE SIDEBAND (SSB)

For short range communication, you can use the Near Vertical Incidence Skywave (NVIS).
To force the RF to go vertical and return back a short distance away, you make you antenna close to the ground and set your frequency just below the Maximum Usuable Frequency (MUF). The MUF can be found by going to www.ips.gov.au ,click on HF Systems, click on Ionospheric Map on the left side.
