An Internet Radio Linking Project (IRLP) repeater allows a ham to link his local repeater to any other
IRLP repeater in the world by a simple 4 digit node number. Normal repeater conversations may then
take place. When finished, the number 73 disconnects the link. For more detail information,
click on The Internet Radio Linking Project Web Page
To determine the 4 digit node number for the repeater you wish to link to,
click on Internet Radio Linking Project Node Numbers
Simplified Operating Instructions
- Determine the 4 digit node number (xxxx) you want to link to (see above).
- Bring up the Avon Park repeater (145.330 -.6 PL tone 103.5 hz).
- Say "This is (your callsign) connecting to node xxxx" and then key in xxxx on your microphone.
- WAIT for the IRLP system to establish the connection (you will hear the announcement).
- If you hear NODE BUSY or NODE DOWN, key in the digits 73 and try again later.
- Monitor for 15 seconds to determine if the remote repeater is being used.
- If unused, say "This is (your callsign) in Sebring, Florida calling CQ. Anyone around for a call ?".
- WAIT 2-3 seconds before going back to a ham responding; then,
key your microphone and WAIT 1 second before talking.
- When the QSO is finished, disconnect the link by saying "Disconnecting node xxxx this is
(your callign) then key the microphone with the digits 73.
