The VE Team has put in the Highlands County Library System the latest book for the Extra Class examination for your use.

To obtain an Amateur License, you must pass the various FCC prescribed tests. These tests are given by volunteer examiners, which for Highlands County, is provided by members of the Club. For more information you can:

For On-line Renewal of your Amateur License less than 120 days before expiration

1. Be sure you can print Portable Document Format (.pdf) files.

To download a reader click Acrobat Reader Software by Adobe Systems

2. PRINT out an Instruction Sheet for Form FCC 900.

3. File electronically by choosing Normal or Secure Mode


W5YI renewals are now 7 dollars at a VE session, if you do it your-self (online) it is still free.

The Volunteer Examiners (VE) Test session will only meet by appointment 
at the Agri-Civic Center on US 27 at 7 pm. in Conference Room #3.

Bring with you TWO pieces of ID, one with your picture on it (Drivers
License preferred), No. 2 pencil, black or blue pen, and the test fee
of $14.00 for an Amateur License or $35.00 for a Commercial License. 
You must have your SOCIAL SECURITY number with you
for filling out the FCC application.

If you have a current HAM license, bring the original and TWO copies.

If you have passed a portion of your upgrade, bring the original CSCE
(Certificate of Successful Completion of Exam) and TWO copies.
