-------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------- OBIT - MHTR - submitted by Agnes Birringer - 6/95 Gordon M Anhalt, age 74, of 12900 CTH-K, Cato, died early Wednesday morning, May 17, 1995, at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20, 1995, at 10:30 a.m. at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Kellnersville. Rev Ronald Columbo will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with Sr Marlene Greatens, Homlist. Burial will follow at the Knollwood Memorial Gardens with Military Rites accorded by Kubale-O'Connell VFW Post. Mr Anhalt was born May 23, 1920 in Clarks Mills, son of the late Joseph and Mathilda Pritzl Anhalt. He attended schools at Clarks Mills. Mr Anhalt was a World War II veteren serving in the Army Air Corp from January 1942 to September 1945. He served in Africa and in Europe. On February 8, 1945 he was married to Betty Barnes at St Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The couple lived in New Holstein for many years until 3 1/2 years ago when they moved to their present address. In the past, Mr Anhalt worked for Tecumseh Products at New Hostein for 18 years, retiring in 1983. He is a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church, the Antique Steam Engine Club and a member of Kubale-O'Connell VFW Post #6179 of Cato. Survivors include his wife, Betty, Cato; one son and aughter-in-law, Ronald and Pam Anhalt, Honolulu, Hi; five daughters and four sons- in-law, Carol and Mike Kohlmann, Manitowoc, Connie (Harlan) Sauer, Cato, Beverly Anhalt, Two Rivers, Lynn and Gerald Luebke, Sheboygan Falls, Marlene and John Allen, Manitowoc; 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters- in-law, Claude and Marie Anhalt, Reedsville, Wilfred and Ruth Anhalt, Connecticut, David and Shirley Anhalt, Manitowoc; seven sisters and brothers-in-law, Charlotte and Wesley Rovang, Aberdeen, S.D., Jean and Karl Klein, Cato, Mary Ann and Gordon Wotruba, Manitowoc, Joan and Merrill Buck, Manitowoc, Rose and Patrick Scanlon, Oshkosh, Phyllis and Robert Uhrich, Manitowoc, Coleen and Roger Brunner, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Gordon was preceded in death by twin brothers and one sister. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services. The Sauer Funeral Home, Kellnersville, is assiting the family with funeral arrangements.
