Anhalt, age 86, died on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Claude was born on Jan. 7, 1922, in Clarks Mills, son of the late Joseph and Mathilda (Pritzl) Anhalt. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Marie Lemberger on Nov. 22, 1947, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Claude retired from the Manitowoc County Highway Department after 35 years. Survivors include his wife: Marie Anhalt, Manitowoc; four sons and three daughters-in-law: Richard (Jan) Anhalt, Eagle River, Randall (Linda) Anhalt, Reedsville, Russell (Julie) Anhalt, Cato, and Bruce Anhalt, Florida; one daughter: Barbara Anhalt, Reedsville; five grandchildren: Michelle (Jeremy) Foytik; Craig Anhalt; Ryan (Lindsay) Anhalt; Pam (Karl) Fels; and Kayla Anhalt; two great-grandchildren: Tyler and Brielle Foytik; two brothers and two sisters-in-law: Wilfred Anhalt, Connecticut, David (Shirley) Anhalt, Manitowoc, and Betty Anhalt, Manitowoc; seven sisters and four brothers-in-law: Charlotte (Wesley) Rovang, South Dakota; Jean Klein, Manitowoc; Mary Ann Wotruba, Manitowoc; Joan (Merrill) Buck, Manitowoc; Rose Scanlan, Oshkosh; Phylis (Robert) Urich, Manitowoc; and Colleen (Roger) Brunner, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Harold (Elane) Lemberger, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law: Serina Lemberger, Arizona; Marcella Lemberger, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Claude was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law: Carl Klein; Pat Scanlan; and Gordon Watruba. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday (TONIGHT), Oct. 28, 2008, at Holy Family Parish, 1100 West Ryan Road, Brillion. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Matt Simonar. Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at Knollwood Mausoleum, 1500 Highway 310, Manitowoc. Military services will be accorded by the Kubale-O'Connell Post 6179. Relatives and friends may call at church from 4 p.m. on Tuesday (TONIGHT), Oct. 28, 2008, until the time of Mass at 7:30 p.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the Anhalt family.
