What makes this area so special for fishing is Charlotte County's ongoing program to aquire the majority of the harbor's mangrove lined perimiter and keep it undeveloped. Here there is a great expanse of unspoiled shoreline and abundant wildlife. Inshore and back-bay fishing for snook, redfish, cobia, tarpon and trout make this area an angler's dream. Offshore, kingfish, grouper, snapper, Spanish mackerel, permit, dolphin, amberjack barracuda and sharks offer equally exciting prospects.
